Matt Adrian brings his essence of seabird art to the Project Puffin Visitor Center

Matt Adrian (aka The Mincing Mockingbird) was born and raised in rural Illinois, and attended art school in Chicago.

Since 2007, Adrian’s work has focused on one subject: birds. From the delightfully cute to the decidedly sinister, his minimalist avian portraits cast a fresh light on these ubiquitous creatures.

Adrian’s love of writing and a deep love for the absurd has helped the titles of the paintings add an irreverent and unexpected dimension to the artwork. He lives on California’s Central Coast with his wife, artist and designer Kim Bagwill.
